Goblins PDF Print E-mail

Well, the Goblins have been removed for the time being and female Worgen have yet to be seen.  So, I have been leveling my mage in the underwater zones.  After waiting and asking and reading the forums, I was finally able to access the inside of the "turtle" thingy to quest (Nespirah).  Even inside this area, it is instanced, and things change as you progress through the quests.  My mage is level 82 now, and I'm still trying to figure out the new "mastery" statistic.

At level 82, I have 36K health, 33k Mana (with just intellect buff), 1724 Intellect, 3355 Spell Power.  I still need to visit a trainer to see if the mastery bonus will unlock.

Visiting the trainer in IF, I was reminded that you can fly in old world - flying through IF is neat.

Ok, now with the collected gear (from questing) with mastery rating - I have 37K health and 39K mana, 2120 intellect and SP 2322 and Mastery 493.  The frost mastery is called Frostburn - All your spells deal 35% increased damage against Frozen targets.  Each point of Mastery increases damage by an additional 2.5%.  (my mastery rating of 493 gets 6.23 mastery points resulting in an additional 15.575% damage.)  I'm thinking that the 50% extra damage as a result of mastery may make up for the drop in Spell Power.  Gonna have to test it out.  I think my set bonuses from tier 10 still make it better than the mastery set thusfar.  But most of the new gear is green and blue.

I flew over to Gnomeregan, and it has changed - there's fighting inside and it doesn't look like it's a full fledged "town".  Lots of toxic sludge and creatures are around New Tinkertown and Chillbreeze Valley.

At the moment, the level cap is still 83, so I'm just toodling along.  Hope to get into some instances soon.

Ok, it's official...  Uldum is awesome!

I toured the area yesterday and I'll get some pictures up soon.  This area is huge and there's tons to see and explore.  Lots of pyramids and floating raid instances (like Netherstorm).  If you liked the AQ instances, this is your area to level at 83+.  No quests yet, but it so far just exploring it was fun!  There are some nasty elites and some cat-type centaurs.

Oh, I checked out the sundered barrens too - some major changes, but Ratchett looks the same.  There are two new bases on opposite sides of the road for alliance and horde in southern Barrens - should be interesting to see the struggle.

Gadgetzan is expanded and now a beachfront location!  The wastewater area is now flooded, as is the entire zone of Shimmering Flats.

Major changes.  I hope to start questing again soon!

Well, they've decided to change the launcher, completely.  Which means that I have to re-download the entire package again.  All 15+Gb of it...

But, on a side note, they've revamped the launcher to let you play once all of the critical game files have loaded, while streaming data to you in the background.  Not sure how it will work yet, as I have tried to load the game in the "yellow" mode, and it froze.

For more information about the new launcher/download system, see the blizzard forums.

I copied my mage over and checked out Vash'ir - This is in the 78-82 area and that creature behind me is the instance "turtle".  It has yet to be opened in the beta.  I hope it opens up soon!  After a bit, you start a quest line to obtain the Seahorse mount - a 280% water speed mount.  It is fun!  I am getting used to the fact that there are 360 degrees of death and mobs in this environment.
